Full transparency — I never saw myself as a business owner before SCG was born! I grew up in the world of music — choir and musical theater and went to school with the dream of becoming a choir teacher. But, after 10 years as an educator, I realized being in the classroom was not my lifelong passion. I longed to find something that was more fulfilling and enjoyable than what I was currently doing.
Then, in late 2020, our son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I quickly found that I couldn’t give 100% to my family and also 100% to my students. That was the push I needed to take the leap of faith and dive headfirst into entrepreneurship with my sister. Although classroom management is not a skill that carries over into this new career, I enjoy working in customer service and chatting with our clients and business partners. I also love sharing our products and services on social media.
My favorite part about what we do is taking the time to focus on the story and the faces behind the businesses we meet with. I love being able to find ways to help make their lives easier through our print and promo products and also spreading awareness about what they do in their community. I am a frequent shopper and customer of all small and local businesses!
My other favorite part — working with my family. I love and take pride in the fact that we are a family-owned and female-owned business. I love finding other businesses like ours and lifting them up in their community.
In my free time, you can find me with my people- my husband, Devin, our 4-year-old son, Grayson and our sweet golden retriever, Ripley. We are expecting our second son, in December, and are excited to become a family of 4! I enjoy living a healthy and balance lifestyle, music and singing, cheering on our favorite sports teams, movement of any kind (mostly running, yoga, barre, cycling, weight lifting, walking), and cooking.
